Happy Hour

ABOUT TIPSY TRAIPSERS NAPA HAPPY HOURS

No matter where my husband and I go, finding the best happy hours, unique watering holes, and local restaurant secrets is at the top of our 'excursion' list. Yes, happy hour hunting IS a hobby. Ask any of my friends or family who plan to travel somewhere we've traipsed for any period of time: we probably have a happy hour list somewhere on our phones, social feeds, desktops, or a piece of loose notebook paper. And they have probably asked us for it.

In fact, this site officially started as a simple "homework" assignment from my father. He is coming to visit here with my mom and needed "a list of all the best happy hours" they could ride their electric bikes to. (Yes, the happy hour life starts with pretty rad parents).

There is nowhere I'm more passionate about happy hour than in my now 12-year hometown of Napa, CA.  As such, I felt another updated Word document for Dad was a lost opportunity.

And so, The Tipsy Traipsers’ Napa Happy Hours is born.

Napa is home to plenty of boujee hotels, world-class restaurants, and some of the world's best wines. That is why it remains a top tourist destination in the US. People flock here in droves for Insta-worthy celebrity chef plates and wine glasses toasting over rolling hills of vineyards. But it's also where my family and I are lucky enough to call home. And while our vino consumption often lives up to the 'oh you live there, I bet you drink a ton of great wine' cliche', French Laundry and Morimoto (while both excellent) aren't on the weekly outing list if you know what I mean.

My husband and I live to find the more casual, the more personable, and the best value for our eating out habit and typical drinking volume (look, I call it like it is). We work from home, and we get plenty of time together, so when we head out [often], you'll find us opting for the bar seats versus the secluded corner table so we have the chance to interact with someone or something new. Then, we love to share the gems with everyone we know or meet.

We find the deals, the friendliest staff, and the value experiences are the most brag-worthy ones. We appreciate fancy; we just aren't. We are the oft labeled 'functioning, productive delinquents," and well, we own it.

So, whether you are a local to Napa or someone planning a visit, I hope to help you find a memorable glass to get to the bottom of.

Of course, our ambition to live perpetually in happy hour is, well, slightly unachievable if we are going to keep that 'productive and functioning' branded piece of our lives going. So, while I try to keep the site updated (especially since the general restaurant sites often fall flat here), I'll probably miss an offering change, update to times, or a restaurant that should be on here. Please contact me with corrections or additions, and I will personally verify them to keep this site top shelf!

Finally, be sure to scope out the Tipsy Traipers' Certified Favorites, which is a collection of first-hand, tried, true, and exceptional happy hours that we go back to time-and-time again.
